David Wells: Drummer/Percussionist

David has been playing drums and percussion since he was in 5th grade and it was through drums that David's true love of music blossomed. Throughout his high school years he played in many performing ensembles as well as a few of his first rock bands. Through these experiences he also started to develop his love of songwriting. Out of high school he decided he wanted to pursue a future in music and went on to attend music school at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY. After two years there, he then transferred to The Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY where he finished his Bachelor's in Music Education.

During college, David played in many ensemble settings. This included several rock and blues based bands as well as his first work in a professional pit orchestra setting, playing drums and percussion for Music Theater North. After college, David spent the next 8 years or so in the Syracuse/Central New York area as well as a year in New York City, where he played in several bands: Seven, Fritz, Rattelbasket, and The Noise and had a brief introduction to the music industry in a much larger setting. After relocating back to Northern New York in 2004, David became reacquainted with musical theater and orchestral work as he began to work with The Community Performance Series out of Potsdam, NY. In addition to this work he has also worked as part of musical productions for both Ogdensburg Free Academy and Massena Central High Schools, and with Grasse River Players out of Canton, NY. Recently David has also added Northern Symphonic Winds to his percussion resume.
